Supporting New York Organizations During the Holidays
From day one Tech:NYC has sought to ensure that tech not only becomes a bigger part of New York, but that also New York becomes a bigger part of tech. To that end, we’ve sought to create pathways into tech careers, spend time in all five boroughs, and support organizations that support New Yorkers.
In 2023, Tech:NYC was proud to support 13 Thanksgiving hunger relief events across all five boroughs. The events, put together in collaboration with local elected officials and community-based nonprofit organizations ranged from community Thanksgiving dinners with seniors to turkey and produce distributions for families in need.
Initiatives like this go a long way in ensuring the tech sector is deeply engaged with NYC’s civic life — and they communicate that our industry remains committed to supporting the city more broadly.
This is the second year Tech:NYC stood up this initiative to support hunger relief efforts over the holiday season — we are thankful to our members Amazon, Block, and Salesforce for their generous support in helping us expand it to benefit more New Yorkers this year, and we hope even more tech companies will join us next year.
Below is the full list of organizations we supported, which do great work year-round. They include many long-standing hunger relief nonprofits, but also many new organizations that got their start during the hardest days of COVID-19 to provide support to their communities. Tech:NYC is happy to connect your company with these organizations if your company would like to engage more directly with them:
