Tech:NYC’s Statement on the 2024 State of the State Address

Tech:NYC issued the following statement in response to today’s 2024 State of the State address by Governor Kathy Hochul:

”Today’s address made clear that while the Governor is rightly focused on the issues impacting New Yorkers right now, like cost of living and affordability, she’s also looking forward to plan for the state’s long-time success.

New York has long been a locus for innovation, and we’re particularly proud that the Governor is building on that success with world-leading investments in artificial intelligence development and infrastructure. The Empire AI plan commits investments that firmly reinforce New York State’s position at the forefront of innovation in this transformative field. It’s undeniable that AI technologies are poised to reimagine the ways we live and work, and New York is leading the charge to ensure they’re applied in a way that’s safe, equitable, and accessible to all New Yorkers.

We applaud Governor Hochul’s ambitious agenda for the year, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her and state legislators to ensure our shared goals benefit every corner of New York’s economy.”
