Highlights from Our Fifth Founder House

We had a full crowd for Volume 5 of our quarterly Founder House, a co-working experience for early-stage founders.

This time around, the Founder House welcomed Tech:NYC’s inaugural Startup:NYC cohort, who are focused on the health and wellness sector, plus a host of others in the New York startup community.

Networks were expanded, questions answered, and pizzas eaten.

Highlights included:

  • A learning session with InnovateMap to discuss product and go-to-market strategies.

    • Founders learned how to avoid "FrankenTech," or a product that is Frankenstein-esque with too many parts that can't tell a unique story.

    • As the InnovateMap team noted, feedback is crucial: “You should be talking to your customers all the time.”

  • A legal 101 session with Gunderson Dettmer LLP.

    • Founders had great questions about fundraising, intellectual property, and other legal considerations when starting a company.

  • As always, creating co-working spaces ripe for founder collaboration and networking.

    • Overheard many times at the Founder House: “So, tell me about your company!”

Thank you to our partners at WeWork for providing a dedicated office suite, and our sponsors InnovateMap and Gunderson Dettmer LLP for their tailored sessions for founders.
